Professor Heather Hogan
Heather Hogan teaches Russian
history from the 10th century to the present. Her current interests focus
on the study of Central Asia. She teaches a freshman seminar entitled
“Historical Perspectives on Contemporary Central Asia” and
an advanced colloquium entitled "Russia in Asia." Intermediate
course offerings include Russia before Peter the Great and Russia/the
Soviet Union since 1945. Her upper level courses focus on society and
polity and explore such topics as the Russian intelligentsia and Stalinism.
Her research interests include late imperial labor history and 19-20th
Central Asia. She is author of Forging Revolution: Metalworkers, Managers,
and the State in St. Petersburg, 1890-1914 (Indiana, 1993). |
