When I was in high school, one of my teachers encouraged me to look into Oberlin. I had never heard of it, but she assured me it was the place to be for what I wanted to do. She told me about the summer music programs and I came to Oberlin for the summer flute institute during my sophomore and junior years. The people I met in Oberlin were awesome, and the faculty were amazing. Unlike a lot of uncertain high schoolers, when I auditioned at Oberlin, I knew that it was were I wanted to be.

Since coming to Oberlin, a lot of doors have opened for me. I've studied in Italy, competed in France, and played concerts all around the States. I love Oberlin for the support and guidance that the faculty and staff give to their students. They're not only concerned with the students' well being, but preparing them so they are job-ready upon graduation.

I have also had great job opportunities that don't have anything to do with music. I love helping people, and during my freshman year I worked for The Oberlin Alumni Fund making calls to alumni a few nights out of the week to ask for their support in contributing to scholarships. Oberlin has been very generous to me and I wanted to do what I could to keep the support coming for others. On a different part of the spectrum, I'm now a student manager at Stevenson. It's an exciting place – on average we serve around 900+ Obies per meal. On any given day, people can catch me studying in the library or running out of a rehearsal that ended at 4:30 to prepare the salad bar at 4:45. Afterwards, I love dancing, so the 'Sco is one of my favorite places to chill out. I'm addicted to coffee so hanging out at Decafe is also in the plans, but after a night at Stevie and being around food all night, I'd much rather go dancing with my friends.
