Gifts in Action :: Greatest Need

Your unrestricted support of The Oberlin Fund helps our students and faculty do what they do best: explore, look, and listen.

Critical needs of our students and faculty are met through gifts to The Oberlin Fund. These gifts are distributed to the areas of greatest need during the current fiscal year.

Typically, about 85 percent of your unrestricted gift will go to scholarship aid. The remaining 15 percent will support current-use needs around campus. These include everything from facility enhancements to emergency student loan funds.

Oberlin Fund gifts also allow the College to make the most of opportunities that arise throughout the year – the chance to send a student to present research at a conference or to bring a great musician to campus for a master class.

Football Program Kicks Off Season with a New Scoreboard

Two football milestones were achieved on September 1, 2007 when midway through a scoreless first quarter senior defensive back Michael Evans picked off a pass by Case Western Reserve quarterback Dan Whalen and ran it back 60 yards for a Yeomen touchdown. One, Evans’ interception return was Oberlin’s first touchdown of the 2007 season. And two, his score lit up a “6” on the brand-new Savage Stadium scoreboard, and it was the first game ever in which that had happened.
