Mary Moran choreographed FUEL in Spring 2001 specifically for herself
and dance colleague, Juliana F. May. FUEL functions much like the
inner workings of a machine, in constant motion, with both unison
and weightsharing partnering sequences. Sensual, fast-paced, and forceful
movement set to electronic music by Tortoise, the piece explores the
inner workings of a machine. "This piece feels like a displacement
of parts. It has an urgency and a need to get somewhere," says
Moran of the piece. It will be performed March 2002 by Moran and May
at the Tri-C East Theater in Cleveland, Ohio for the Northeast Ohio
Dance Festival.
