Artist's Statement
The
works I have chosen here represent a sizable portion of my output
in the last 8 months. I have this year done a number of collaborative
projects with fellow artist, two of which I have displayed here. It
is an interesting comparison for me to make between the final product
of the collaborations versus my solo works. They stand in strong contrast
to each other in terms of material, aesthetic and space. I consider
myself a sculptor mostly and my solo creations very much exist as
sculptures whereas all of my collaborations thus far have been installations.
I don’t know how these works all fit together. For me they all
have a strong similarity, but that is a result of my personal process
in all of these. As a whole they are a display of my growth and exploration
this year, and represent where I’m coming from.
