Many students today fund a portion of their college expenses through scholarships given by private agencies, civic groups, companies, and other independent organizations. When the Office of Financial Aid receives information about such outside scholarships, it is posted online. Several good Internet search engines can also help students identify scholarship opportunities.
For information on how outside scholarships affect financial aid awards, see Financial Aid Policies.
Outside Scholarship Search Engines
•With more than $3 billion in scholarships, the FastWeb scholarship search and www.scholarships.com are the largest, most accurate and most frequently updated scholarship databases. If you supply an email address, they will notify you when new awards that match your profile are added to the database.
•Other large scholarship databases are available on the FinAid! web site.
