History 366: Gender & Nation in Latin America

Your third paper will be due on the last day of the reading period, December 17, at 4:30 pm. It is to be a 5-7 page paper on any topic drawn from any of the books read from November 13th on (Guy, Caulfield, Taylor or Allende). The paper can draw from more than one of the books or can pick a theme covered in one of the books and discuss it broadly over other works we have read.

As I wrote in the syllabus, "...you are ... encouraged to think of other ways to approach your assignments. I am quite willing to entertain proposals for projects that are prepared as artworks, music, drama, video, or in any other medium. These will need to be cleared by me when the project is first assigned.You are also permitted (and encouraged) to do up to two of the three projects as joint work with a maximum of three people. One project will need to be an individual project. In the case of joint projects, you will need to clear this with me prior to beginning your project." Joint projects should be a minimum of 7-9 pages long.

There will be no extensions given on this paper unless you have applied for an official incomplete in the course.
