The Webster's pocket pal dictionary (1992) defines leisure as freedom from occupation; vacant time. In the U.S. today, leisure plays an important role in adolescent development.

Four sections focusing on leisure are included: influences, positives and negatives, sports, and further reading.

This site brings up a specific topic leisure activities among homosexual and bisexaul adolescents. It gives interesting statistics on homosexuality in the United States and how that effects teens during their down-time. Written for anyone interested, this site gives a different perspective and more insight concerning gay youth.

Technology having more of an impact on leisure activities among adolescents and this site is a great description of an upcoming survey/research project. It goes on to give a summary of data as well as investigate how gender plays a role in how male and female adolescents react to different types of technology used during their leisure time. Though this is mostly geared towards people who have some expierence in research techniques, it's extremely relevant to how that effects teens in our sociiety.
