MY FAMILY

This is my wonderful family.

Ian graduated from Yale, where he majored in philosophy, in 2000. For the next two years he reported for the New York Observer. He is now a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh. You can write to Ian at ianblecher@hotmail.com. In June 2003 he and Sara Nichols married. And on May 8, 2007, they brought Solomon Nichols Blecher into the world!

Jacob graduated from Yale in May 2004. Check out graduation pictures. He worked for the Working Families Party in New York and as a paralegal in Los Angeles, and the began graduate work in political science at the University of Chicago. Hannah also graduated from Yale, spent a year in Hollywood as a writing intern for David Milch, and then took an M.A. in Cinema and Comparative Literature at the University of Iowa. She continues Ph.D. work in the same field at the University of Chicago. Write her at hannah.frank@gmail.com.

During the winter and spring, 2000, Joel (left) lived with the Furlanetto family in Dolo, Italy, a lovely town between Padua and Venice. He graduated from Swarthmore in June 2004. After working in Philadelphia at adult GED programs for the indigent, he spent 2006-07 in Syria. Beginning in the fall of 2007 he began graduate study in Islamic Studies in Princeton's Department of Religion. In June 2012, he and Summer Renault-Steele will marry.
