Restaurant Reviews as Published in the
Elyria Chronicle Telegram
from April 30, 1993
to February 10, 1995
Early in 1993, we meet Andy Young, the editor of the Elyria Chronicle Telegram in a local restaurant. I mentioned to Andy that if the Chronicle Telegram ever wanted someone to write restaurant reviews, Naomi and I would be interested in the job. Shortly after that Andy called and we discussed the idea. Eventually, we came to an agreement and on April 30, 1993 we wrote our first review. Naomi was the one who picked the pen names of Edith Well and Al L'Carte. So for almost two years we visited local restaurants and wrote reviews. There were some great meals and good times and only rarely did we pan a restaurant. However, we judged all the restaurants by clientele they served rather than by comparing one restaurant with another one.
