    Oberlin College is committed to providing a safe and healthy campus environment. The health and safety of all faculty, staff, and students, the visiting public, and members of the neighboring community is among its highest priorities. In support of its commitment, the College has established an Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) which works with the Facilities Operations Department and the Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) area to implement environmental and occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant governmental laws and regulations.     Administration Services/Work Order Center

    The Facilities Operations office is open Monday thru Friday from 8am-4:30pm. The office observes the following holidays, New Years, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Winter Shutdown, and Christmas. Please email non-emergency work requests to Facilities.Operations@oberlin.edu. For urgent and or emerency work orders please call the office during regular business hours at 440-775-8445. If it is outside our regular hours of 8am-4:30pm please contact the Office of Safety and Security at 440-775-8444. Remember to please be as specific as possible when reporting an issue.     The Facilities Operations Office has three administrative assistants with a wide range of responsibilities including customer service, key inventory, and vehicle rental. MORE INFORMATION

    Custodial Department CONTACT US

    The Custodial department consists of one manager, two day shift supervisors, one night shift supervisor and 54 employees with four starting shifts. The custodial department is responsible for the cleanliness of all college campus buildings (academic buildings and resident halls) MORE INFORMATION

    Flooring Around Campus CONTACT US

    Oberlin College has a great varity of flooring across campus. There are carpet squares, marmoleum squares, sheet vinyl, forbo tiles, rubber tile, terrazo, and VCT to name a few. There is also a wide range of color through out the campus.

    The two companies that Oberlin College has been using for the last couple years to replace flooring is Legacy Commercial Flooring and Spectra Contract Flooring. Legacy Flooring Recycle Program Information / Spectra Contract Flooring LEED Inovation

    Grounds and Athletics Maintenance CONTACT US

    The Grounds Department is responsible for 640 acres campus wide included in this acreage are the Athletic Fields, Tappan Square and all the parking lots. The Grounds Department has converted one of the diesel tractors to run on vegetable oil in an effort to reduce the departments carbon footprint. Here is the link for the NEWSPAPER and ABC NEWS STORY. The department consists of one manager, one mechanic, and eight grounds workers. ENVIRONMENTAL INITATIVES, The Grounds department has developed Tree Protection Specifications to help preserve our natural resources on campus.

    HVAC and CHP (Cental Heating Plant) CONTACT US

    The HVAC department consists of one manager and four HVAC technicians. They are responsible for all heating and comfort cooling maintenance on campus. MORE INFORMATION

    The CHP department is managed by the HVAC manager and has nine boiler engineers that are responsible for maintaining the campus's steam distribution system of over 16 miles of buried pipe as well as the maintenance of the entire heating plant and all of it's related equipment. MORE INFORMATION

    Roofing CONTACT US

    A combined effort between FacOps and FP & C maintains ALL campus building's roofs on campus. The college has 45 academic buildings, 26 residential buildings, and 117 student village houses and faculty/staff rentals, which can mean different roofing materials for each one. MORE INFORMATION
