James
E. Zinser (Ph.D., University of Oregon, 1967), works in the areas
of economic development, especially in Latin American countries,
industrial organization and law & economics. He teaches both
applied courses and seminars in economic development in Latin America,
law & economics, industrial organization, and antitrust economics,
as well as the introductory courses. Recent publications have focused
on the problems of newly established financial markets in developing
countries and the prospects for policies to deal with these institutions.
He has served as an economic consultant and expert witness in antitrust
cases, such as national class action price fixing cases, and as
a damage consultant in the analysis of business disputes.
