Robert
Piron (Ph.D., Northwestern University, 1966) has teaching interests
in microeconomic theory, experimental economics, history of
economic thought, welfare theory and public choice economics.
His recent publications include "Are Fairness Constraints
on Profit-Seeking Important?", with Luis Fernandez, Journal
of Economic Psychology, March 1995, "Testing Risk-Love
in an Experimental Racetrack", Journal of Economic Behavior
and Organization, August 1995), "Should She Switch: A Game-Theoretic
Analysis of the Monte Hall Problem", with Luis Fernandez,
Mathematics, June 1999, and "They Have the World on a Queue",
Challenge, Winter 2002. He has also published papers in the
American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, The
Journal of Political Economy, The Journal of Finance and The
Indian Economic Journal, as well as several earlier contributions
to Challenge. He has served as a Consultant and Expert Witness
in legal cases involving damage estimation in instances of wrongful
discharge, discrimination, breach of contract, medical malpractice,
and pension evaluation.
