Welcome
to Oberlin! IÕm a fourth year from Bangalore, India, and I really enjoy
studying mathematics. I also love taking classes in the English and history
departments, and IÕm a big fan of EXCOs. I juggle
and swing-dance a bit in my spare time (both of which I learned in EXCO courses)
and I also really enjoy art, which I do on my own sometimes. I work for the
admissions office as a senior intern, so some of you may have even had your
Oberlin interview with me.
I
spent last semester in Budapest, Hungary, doing a study-away program that
focuses on math. Living in Eastern Europe was an amazing experience, and I
would highly recommend studying abroad while at Oberlin. Feel free to ask me
any questions you may have about what study away is like, and about the
process.
Besides
that, I spend a lot of my time around co-ops, especially Pyle Inn, where I have
dined for the past five semesters. Being in a co-op has been one of my most
significant Oberlin experiences–it has taught me so much about decision
making, politics, and of course, food. If you think that co-op living/dining is
suited for you, I highly recommend getting on the OSCA waitlist, and if not, I
would at least recommend getting a friend to take you to special meal at any
co-op on a Saturday night.

Resource: The Allen Art Museum. Even if you havenÕt taken a single art class at
Oberlin – this is a great place to go to just sit around and look at
really good art. ItÕs open to everyone, and it is free!
