GRADUATION AND MARCHING AT COMMENCEMENT

Q: Can my son march at graduation without having completed all degree requirements?

A: Students must be registered for work sufficient to complete, by the end of the last
semester in residence, all requirements for the degree(s) sought, in order to be eligible to
participate in the annual Commencement exercises.

Q: My son has completed all degree requirements except for one Winter Term credit. Can
he march at commencement?

A: No. Students who haven’t completed their Winter Term credits will not be allowed to
march.

Q: My daughter will be finishing her degree away. Can she march at commencement with
her class?

A: No. Students who have permission to finish their work away from Oberlin may
participate in commencement exercises only after all requirements have been completed and
the degree awarded. See the Course Catalog for information on Finish Away status.
