The One World, One Rope project is a global, instructional jump rope program beginning in Tanzania and Kenya. As the project leader, I will create teams in both countries, promote the formation of national governing organizations, and organize the first national jump rope competitions in East Africa. In addition to teaching, my focus will be building a network of committed coaches, knowledgeable instructors, and skilled jump ropers. The program will provide new opportunities for all participants to experience success, develop healthy lifestyles, increase social ties, and take on roles of leadership and responsibility within their communities.

Scott Erickson '08 Skritter is an online tool to help students learning the Chinese and Japanese languages better learn their characters/kanji. Students no longer have to make lists, they can use ours. The practice is active, requiring users to write each prompt, which reinforces fast memorization. Finally, Skritter is built on a spaced-repetition system that optimizes student retention rates based on individual progress. What all this means: learning Chinese and Japanese vocabulary doesn't have to be arduous anymore.

The project is a presentation of the complete suites for solo cello by Bach. I will be presenting concerts in nine different cities across the United States in February. My goal is to present Bach’s cello suites as I believe they are intended to be played, with a focus on presenting the original bowings written in the Anna Magdalena Bach copy of Johann Sebastian Bach’s manuscript.
