2016 Preliminary Auditions

These preliminary rounds are a prescreening for the 2017 Cooper International Violin Competition.


Oslo, Norway

A maximum of three winners from the Oslo prescreening will be admitted to the Oberlin phase of the competition in July 2017.

Oslo preliminary winners must submit an official competition application by May 1, 2017, but DVD submission and application fees will be waived. Biographies of violinists advancing to the Oberlin phase of the competition also will be posted to the Cooper International Competition website when available.

Qingdao, China

A maximum of two winners from the Qingdao prescreening will be admitted to the Oberlin phase of the competition in July 2017.
