The competition will take place from July 18-26, 2013. Registration will take place Thursday, July 18. The departure is Saturday, July 27, the day after the Concerto finals. The competition will feature two rounds with piano in the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Warner Concert Hall. The fourth, fifth, and sixth prizes of $1,000, and the Audience Prize of $500 will be presented at the conclusion of the Recital Final Round on Wednesday, July 24.
On Friday, July 26, the top three finalists will compete for first, second, and third prizes in performance of complete concerti with the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ohio. The first prize of $10,000 also includes engagements with professional orchestras in Shanghai, China. The second prize of $6,000 and third prize of $3,000 also will also be awarded that evening.
