APST 800: CHAMBER MUSIC, APST 805: CONTEMPORARY CHAMBER MUSIC,
or APST 810: PIANO ENSEMBLE
must complete a chamber-music request form
(available from Bibbins 113 - Due first Wednesday, first week of classes)

1st Wednesday
of 1st week of class by 4:00PM
In most cases you will not be able to register
during your preliminary registration window as groups are still pending.

Small Jazz Ensemble 803
Final assignments and CRNs will be posted (and/or e-mailed) outside of Bibbins Main Office (Bibbins 113), and consent entered on PRESTO
just one day prior to the add/drop deadline.
To receive credit for small ensembles,
you must register for the course in PRESTO
or using a gray add/drop card before the add/drop registration ends:

*Students will receive online consent one day prior to the add/drop deadline. A faculty signature is not required. It is the student's responsibility to register by the add/drop deadline.
*All students should register for ensemble credit unless they have reached a maximum of 17 credit hours for the semester. Students can meet withe their Advisor and/or Associate Dean to discuss credit hours and waivers.
*Check the small ensemble requirements specified for your major in the catalog (catalog.oberlin.edu)
*Students typically are assigned to only one small ensemble per semester. You should indicate your 1st & 2nd choice. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the faculty.
*Students assigned to two groups will not be able to register on PRESTO. These few students must manually complete a gray add/drop card submitted to the Office of the Registrar (Carnegie) prior to the add/drop deadline. A faculty signature is not required.
*Ensembles taken for credit must be registered for and graded during the semester of participation.

NOTE FOR STRING CHAMBER MUSIC STUDENTS:
*All NEW students wishing to participate in string chamber music should attend a Chamber Music Reading Session during Orientation. (Usually Friday, 1:00-3:00pm, Conservatory Bibbins 334.) This session currently open to Conservatory & Double Degree students only.
*All students participating in string chamber music are required to attend an organizational meeting (time/location tba - see Central 25.)

JAZZ SMALL ENSEMBLE (JAZZ 803)
Registration Procedures
* All students wishing to enroll in JAZZ 803: JAZZ SMALL ENSEMBLE must be approved by the jazz faculty prior to ensemble placement. For questions regarding auditions and placement, please contact Julie Baker.
*Students approved for jazz ensembles placement should complete a Jazz Small Ensemble request form (available from the Conservatory Main Office (Bibbins 113) or Jazz Office Kohl 200).
*Completed request forms will be collected at the conclusion of the first Jazz Forum of the semester. (During add/drop period)

Please consult your Student Handbook under the section titled "Regulations and Procedures of the Conservatory of Music" regarding practice room assignments. For specific questions regarding practice room assignments and keys please contact Deborah.Sutorius@oberlin.edu. For questions regarding locker assignments, please contact Heather.Martin@oberlin.edu. Bachelor of Music students will be given preference regarding locker and/or practice room assignments. We cannot provide storage for non-major students.
