AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR SINGERS, PIANISTS, INSTRUMENTALISTS

SINGERS

  • Two arias or art songs - all in Italian, one aria with a recitative.

If you would like to be considered for a role, please include an aria from the opera. Please send a video recording if you are unable to perform a live audition.

STRINGS

  • one movement of an unaccompanied Bach sonata
  • an exposition of a concerto or a sonata

WINDS and Brass

  • A first movement of a classical sonata or concerto
  • A selection of your choice

PIANISTS

  • A work demonstrating the pianist's technical and musical development
  • An operatic piano score excerpt
  • A collaborative recordin or performance with a singer and/or a selection of instrumental chamber music

AUDITIONS

TAPED AUDITIONS

Taped audition:  video tapes/DVDs for singers, audio or video for pianists and instrumentalists, and all application materials must be received by February 6, 2009.

LIVE AUDITIONS
Application materials due December 1st; after this date, on a space-available basis.

Regional auditions are recorded by the Conservatory Office of Admissions. Please bring your own accompanist.
