REGISTRATION

Applying
To apply, please complete the APPLICATION FORM and return along with:

  • A short resume of accomplishments
  • Repertoire list
  • Letters of recommendation from two teachers/conductors
  • Audio recording of one piece taken from Flute Music by French Composers (Schirmer) without accompaniment AND one modern piece for solo flute such as La Montaine's Sonata, Bozza's Image or Honegger's Danse de la Chêvre. Label the CD with your name, address, and telephone number, as well as the piece titles.
  • $50 nonrefundable application fee.

The application deadline is April 4, 2008 (application materials must be postmarked no later than April 4th). Applicants will be notified by April 20 of their acceptance.

Payment
The balance for tuition, housing, and dining is due June 2, 2008. If payment is not received by the deadline, the reserved space will be given to someone on the waiting list. Should a registrant need to cancel after the deadline, the full fee (minus a $50 handling fee) will be refunded if written notification is received seven days before the first day of the institute. After that date, no refund will be made. Make checks payable (in U.S. funds) to Oberlin College.

Registration
Registration is Sunday, June 29 from 1-5 pm. At this time participants will be assigned to residence halls and receive schedules and other pertinent information.

What to Bring
Participants are expected to bring scores (including piano accompaniment) of pieces that they are working on as well as the following: 17 Grands Exercices Journaliers from the Taffanel-Gaubert Method (Leduc), and should prepare #4 and #10 for the Institute. 24 Petites Etudes Mélodiques by Marcel Moyse (Leduc), and Seven Exercises by M.A. Reichert and should prepare #2 and #4 for the Institute.
