World Premiere of Work by Wendell Logan at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago

The Oberlin Jazz Faculty Octet features members of the Conservatory's Jazz Studies faculty who maintain active jazz careers besides teaching lessons, classes, and coaching ensembles. The Octet has been featured at International Association of Jazz Educators' conferences.

Members of the Octet who will perform Gullah Island Suite are: Wendell Logan, saxophone; Donald Walden, saxophone; Bobby Ferraza, guitar; Kenny Davis, trumpet; Robin Eubanks, trombone; Billy Hart, drums; and Peter Dominguez, bass. Jackie Warren, a former student of Neal Creque, Oberlin's teacher of jazz piano who died last year, will join the Octet on piano.
