Prizes and Awards:
Winner of the Society of Music Theory's Wallace Berry
Award (1995) for Wagner's Das Rheingold. (Oxford University
Press, 1993).
Published Works:
Papers delivered; national meetings, Society for Music
Theory (1982, 1984, 1988 and 1992), Wagner Centennial
Conference (1983); national meetings, American Musicological
Society (1985, 1987 and 1989), Seattle Opera symposium on
Die Meistersinger (1989), International Bruckner Symposium
(1994). Articles on Wagner published in various periodicals
including the program book for the 1988 Bayreuth Festival,
The Musical Times, Opera Quarterly, Integral, 19th Century
Music, and Music Theory Spectrum. Current research (with
James Hepokoski) on Sonata Theory.
