Baritone Scott Skiba '03 will be featured on The McGraw Hill Companies' Young Artists Showcase Wednesday, May 21, at 9 p.m. The program airs on WQXR 96.3 FM and is simulcast on wqxr.com. WQXR is the classical music radio station of The New York Times.

Skiba will be heard performing selections from Robert Schumann's song cycle Dichterliebe, op. 48, recorded during his senior recital in Kulas Recital Hall on September 21, 2002. Accompanying him is pianist Elena Loskova '03.

Skiba, a veteran of such Oberlin Opera Theater productions as The Rake's Progress, The Bartered Bride, and The Rape of Lucretia, won the first place award in the Dayton Opera Guild Competition in April 2003. He will perform the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni in Urbania, Italy, this June.

At Oberlin, Skiba studied with Professor of Singing Daune Mahy. This fall he will study with the internationally acclaimed baritone Timothy Noble on a full scholarship at the Indiana University School of Music, where he will pursue a performance diploma in professional opera studies.
