Visit Alcina's Enchanted Island Off the Coast of Oberlin For Romance, Adventure, and a New Lease on Life

by Marci Janas '91

Alcina, George Frederick Handel's three-act opera, will debut Wednesday, March 12, at 8 p.m., in Hall Auditorium. The performance, with its richly expansive music and fantastical mysticism, will continue Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15, at 8 p.m., and will have its final run Sunday, March 16, with a 2 p.m. matinee.

The opera, which will be sung in Italian with English supertitles, will be guest conducted by Jeannette Sorrell '90, founder of Cleveland's Baroque Orchestra, Apollo's Fire. Tickets are available by calling Oberlin's Central Ticket Service at 440-775-8169.
