Hymn Festival “Songs For The Journey”

Cleveland radio's WCPN (90.3 FM) will feature Oberlin's hymn festival, Songs for the Journey, on its popular live program, Around Noon. The program, which airs weekdays from noon to 1 p.m., will feature the festival on Monday, September 23, during the second half of the hour. Organist and choral director John Ferguson '63 will talk with Around Noon host Dee Perry by telephone from his home in Minnesota. Two other hymn festival planners will be interviewed in the studio - Oberlin College's Protestant chaplain Manfred Lassen and Mary Louise VanDyke, a 1947 Oberlin graduate who is librarian of the Dictionary of American Hymnology and an Oberlin affiliate scholar.

Songs for the Journey takes place Sunday, September 29, at 4 p.m. in Finney Chapel.
