Paul Polivnick Mr. Polivnick has also been an associate principal conductor of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and associate conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and he was founder/conductor of the Los Angeles Radio Orchestra. He attended the Juilliard School of Music, studying violin with Oscar Shumsky and conducting with Jean Morel. Concurrent with his Juilliard studies, he attended the Tanglewood Music Festival as violinist for two years and on a Leonard Bernstein conducting fellowship for a third year. As a guest conductor, he has appeared with symphony orchestras of Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Utah, and San Diego, among others. International appearances include those with the Czechoslovakian State Orchestra of Gottwaldov, Brno Philharmonic, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Orkester des Österreichischen Rundfunks, and Gulbenkian Orchestra. Recordings include those with
the Harmonia Nova Orchestra of Vienna, where he is principal conductor;
the Alabama Symphony Orchestra; the London Symphony Orchestra; and the
New Hampshire Music Festival. |
