Gared Crawford

Gared Crawford, 19, is a first-year violin performance major from Houston, Texas. He began his studies at the age of ten with Cindy and Henry Rubin, and attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts [HSPVA], where he served as concert master for the HSPVA Orchestra during his senior year.

Crawford has won first prize in several competitions, including the Clear Lake Symphony Competition, the Houston Music Teachers Association Strings Competition, and the HSPVA Concerto Competition. He received second prize in the Greater Houston Youth Orchestra Competition, and was a semi-finalist in the Houston Symphony Competition.

He studies with Professors Almita and Roland Vamos.
