Composer/Conductor John Adams to Offer Talk

John Adams

Acclaimed composer/conductor John Adams will offer a talk on his work on Monday, March 1, from 3:00-4:00 p.m., in Bibbins 326. It is free and open to the public. He'll also offer master classes for select students (all times have been scheduled).

Adams's compositions include Nixon in China (1987), The Death of Klinghoffer (1991), I Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I Saw the Sky (1995), Chamber Symphony (1994), Slonimsky's Earbox (1996), and Gnarly Buttons (1996).

He is the recipient of numerous top international awards, and in 1996, a survey of major orchestras conducted by the American Symphony Orchestra League found Adams to be the most frequently-performed living American composer.
