Carol Sedgwick

Carol Sedgwick is an associate professor emeritaof voice from the University of North Dakota. She currently works as Coordinator of Health Careers and Fellowships at Oberlin College, where she also teaches secondary voice lessons at the Conservatory. Sedgwick also is director of music at Lakewood United Methodist Church.

At UND she headed the vocal division, organized a Master of Music program for music educators in vocal pedagogy and taught studio voice, voice diction, voice pedagogy, vocal literature and music appreciation. She has been active throughout the United States as a recitalist, clinician, and adjudicator. Her students have included finalists in the Metropolitan Opera auditions and National Federation of Music auditions.

Sedgwick performed as a soloist regularly in the Midwest in recital and oratorio performances. She sang for five years with the professional quartet Caeciliana in Milwaukee and has been published in numerous journals, as well as in the Grove Dictionary of Opera.
