Connecting a Wireless Access Point, Router, or Other Device

 

Routers, other than those used by CIT, are disallowed from access to the campus network.

Wireless access points are disallowed in all Residential Housing.

The College provides wireless capability at most locations throughout campus, including

  • Most public areas in Mudd Library
  • Most public areas the Wilder Student Union
  • King building
  • Most of the Conservatory of Music
  • Conservatory Library
  • All of King Building
  • Most areas of the Science Center
  • Art Department Photodomes
  • Some areas of the Allen Art Building Annex
  • The Dining hall in Stevenson Hall
  • All of East hall, South Hall and the Union Street houses
  • Wilder Bowl
  • Tappan Square
  • Common Areas in All Residence Halls

Look for these signs for access to our wireless network! (802.11b or 802.11g wireless capabilities needed.)

Those desiring use of their own devices must first contact CIT for approval and configuration instructions. Students in residence halls should first contact their RCC's.

Other devices may be approved for connection to the network, depending on the type of device. Contact your RCC to ask if the device is allowed prior to connecting to the network.
