Food & Drink Policy

Food is not permitted in any CIT computer facility. Drinks are permitted in approved containers only. These include sturdy, covered, reusable containers designed to minimize spills.

Approved Drink Containers: Non-Approved Drink Containers:

Food and drinks can be extremely detrimental to computer equipment. Equipment damaged by food or beverages is expensive to repair and/or replace, both in terms of equipment costs and in terms of personnel resources required to troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace the equipment. Thus, please only have drinks in any CIT lab facility that are in approved containers.

Anyone observed in any CIT computer facility in possession of a food item, or a drink in a non-approved container, will be asked to remove the offending item(s) immediately and/or leave the facility. Non-cooperation may result in fines, judicial proceedings, or suspension of computer lab privileges. If you carry food with you, please keep it stored out of sight, in a backpack, pocket, etc.

Please contact the Director of Client Services if you have any questions regarding this policy.

We appreciate your cooperation with our policy on food and drink in CIT facilities! This helps to keep our computers functional, and our facilities (and keyboards!) clean.
