Service Location Protocol (slp) - for Netware drive mappings

In order for the Novell Netware drives to consistently map properly, SLP (Service Location Protocol) must be turned on.

To do this:

  1. right-click on Netware Services (the red N) in the system tray (or go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connection -> Local Area Connections and under the General tab, click Properties.  Then highlight Novell Client for Windows and click on Properties.)
  2. select Novell Client Properties
  3. In the pop-up window that appears, Novell Client Configuration, click on the Service Location tab
  4. under Scope List, enter ob-slp-global and click Add, then check the Static box
  5. under Directory Agent List, enter nwslp1.cc.oberlin.edu and click Add, then check the Static box
