OBERLIN COMPUTER ACCOUNTS WILL BE DELETED FOR ALL GRADUATES The following Information pertains to all December 2007 and May 2008 Oberlin College graduates: Your Oberlin College computer accounts will be deleted on or about the start of Fall Break, October 2008. This will include all accounts assigned to you: e-mail, Novell (StuLOCKER), web, etc. If you desire to retrieve any data (messages, files, etc.), you must do so by 5 P.M., October 17, 2008. After the data has been deleted, it will NOT be retrievable! The Oberlin College Alumni Association offers a free, permanent, e-mail forwarding (not an actual account) service that will function with an e-mail account acquired from another service-provider. This is a forwarding-only service that allows you to maintain a consistent email address affiliated with Oberlin College, regardless of the actual account . The e-mail alias provided by the Alumni office will take the form: yourname@world.oberlin.edu. For details, go to the Alumni website at: http://www.oberlin.edu/alumni/ and click on Keep in Touch -> Email Forwarding If you need any assistance retrieving messages or files, please contact the CIT Help Desk, well before October 17th, at 440-775-8197 or via e-mail to: cit@oberlin.edu. Remember: Once your account has been deleted, the data will no longer be retrievable! Note: Oberlin College will be updating and migrating its e-mail system to Google Apps for Education/Gmail, starting in early July 2008. Graduated students are urged to NOT opt in to this service once it becomes available, as it will require significant modifications from the user-end and the account will be deleted during fall break regardless of whether it is on the existing system or the Gmail for Oberlin College system (OCMail). The current e-mail system will function until fall break. .
