LOCKER (Location on Campus for Keeping of Electronic Resources)

LOCKER is personal space on a CIT-maintained server for each Oberlin College user - faculty, staff and student. This space can be used to:

  • store files for access from various locations on campus
  • store backups of important files to ensure they are also backed-up by CIT

LOCKER space should not be used to store important files that are not backed up elsewhere! Always make sure you have more than one copy, in different locations (e.g., LOCKER and a CD-RW), for your important files!

LOCKER is accessed by all users through an interface known as NetStorage. NetStorage works with most web browsers on Windows, Macintosh and Linux systems, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, Netscape, and Konqueror. (Note that Internet Explorer on Mac OS X is known to be problematic. OS X users should use Safari or Mozilla.)

NetStorage access is secured through Secure Socket Layer (SSL). You may see a message such as "This website is certified by an unknown authority and may not be secure; do you really want to continue?" However, the server is self-signed and is secure, so you should choose to permanently accept the certificate.

Students, to access StuLOCKER:

Go to: https://stulocker.cc.oberlin.edu/NetStorage

Use your Novell Netware account username and password to login. You now have access to your personal storage space and can download and upload the files stored there.

Faculty and Staff, to access StaffLOCKER:

Go to: https://stafflocker.cc.oberlin.edu/NetStorage

Use your Novell Netware account username and password to login. You now have access to your personal storage space and can download and upload the files stored there.
