Scheduled Downtime

Leaving Oberlin?

If you are leaving Oberlin, in general, you'll want to clean up your computer accounts for future deletion. Make sure you SAVE all desired information from all accounts (email, LOCKER, etc.) PRIOR to departing from Oberlin. See info below for further details:

Graduating students Your accounts will be deleted during the Fall Break after your graduation. Thus, a May graduate will have his/her accounts deleted during October of the same year. A December grad will have his/her accounts deleted during October of the following year.
Withdrawn students If the Registrar's Office lists you as withdrawn, your accounts will also being deleted in the same manner as graduating students.
Finish-Away students In general, Finish Away students do not return to Oberlin and their accounts are deleted in the same manner as graduating students.
Leave-of-Absence students If CIT is made aware of your Leave-of-Absence status, and the registrar's Office believes you will return, you may retain your accounts. When you receive the notice that your accounts will be deleted, send an email message to Client.Services@oberlin.edu, explaining your status.
Student becoming staff at Oberlin When you receive the notice that your accounts will be deleted, send an email message to Client.Services@oberlin.edu, explaining your status. Your accounts will be transferred to a staff status.
Staff Once CIT is informed of your departure from the Office of Employee Relations, you will receive an email message stating CIT's intent to delete your accounts within 30 days from the date of the message.
Faculty, non-retiring Once CIT is informed of your departure from the Office of Employee Relations, you will receive an email message stating CIT's intent to delete your accounts within 30 days from the date of the message.
Faculty, retiring, emeritus status You will be allowed to retain your email account indefinitely.
