Desk; administers and maintains computer labs, including lab printing;
provides student consulting staff, including Student Computing Services Center (SCSC) consultants, Help
Desk consultants, Remote Site Monitors, and Residential Computer Coordinators (RCCs); sets up and delivers
faculty and staff Windows computers; installs and maintains software
in the labs; troubleshoots and repairs software problems; maintains
some servers; provides centralized backups for administrative departments; maintains
CIT website; provides some user training; provides user documentation online |

Computing Services |
Does programming
and analysis of business programs of the College (Registrar, Human
Resources, FinAid, Finance, Student Accounts); supports Banner system;
supports FAMIS, ARMS, Odyssey, EMS, and other systems; provides the
College's main database Database Administrator; keeps Banner systems
current; provides end-user support for additional forms, etc. |
| Networking,
Operations, and Systems |
Manages and
administers campus network, including Resnet, and connections to
Internet; provides planning and development for the future; monitors
and administers bandwidth usage; manages and administers most campus-wide
servers, including mail server and web server, DNS, DHCP, etc.;
administers LOCKER space; creates and manages computer accounts;
configures printers for network access; manages Uniprint system;
provides computer operations, including payroll data entry and required
printouts. |
| Oberlin Center for Technologically Enhanced Teaching (OCTET) |
Provides technology support to faculty, and administrative staff who support faculty, for academic purposes. Administers the Blackboard course management system; provides online resources; conducts workshops. |
