LATEST NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
OC Community - everyone | Did you buy a replacement power adapter for your iBook or Powerbook? It's Almost Here...Get Ready for OCMail! The date is almost upon us! Monday, 07 July 2008 is the date you'll be able to sign up for the new e-mail system, OCMail, e-mail powered by Google! As you may recall, we were at a decision point regarding our e-mail system: upgrade or outsource. For various factors, outlined in a memo from John Bucher, Chief Technology Officer and Director of Information Technology at Oberlin College, submitted to the college community in March 2008, the decision was made to outsource to Google. Now, you won't be forced to sign up on 07 July, but that will be the date when the system will become available to all college personnel (faculty, staff, and all students). Everyone must be moved over to the new system by fall break in October 2008, so you'll have to sign up by then. The summer months should be a good time to make the transition! CIT will hold training sessions to assist people with moving to the new system. More information is online now! Click on the the Full Story link. Prior to signing up, you may want to clean up old mail, getting rid of messages you no longer need or want. Now would also be a good time to set up password-recovery questions for your ObieID account, if you have not already done so. After you sign up, you'll be able to move all your old mail, and move or export existing address books. Your e-mail address will even stay the same! Busy Summer Schedule for CIT[02June08]The summer months are the time when CIT staff members conduct necessary, critical updates, upgrades, preventive maintenance, reconfigurations, etc. Many of these efforts are time-consuming and can only be accomplished during this time. The schedule for this summer is extensive. Please read the full story for complete details. We're Hiring Students for the 2008-2009 Academic Year!
