Comments on condition:
New clean carpets and floor in kitchen and bathroom. The upper apartment is sweet and cozy and warm in the winter. Sophisticated--you wouldn't want this place to get dirty.

Temperature
Is the residence well insulated? Yes
Are there window screens? Yes
Are there storm windows? Yes
Is the residence warm enough? Yes
Is it hard to regulate the heat?
(For example, does the thermostat work? Do you have to open windows in the winter?): Yes

Comments on any of the above (temperature):
The thermostat is in the lower apartment so we rely on them to regulate, but there's never been a problem.

Does s/he enter the premises without your consent or without giving legal notice? No

Have you observed on the part of the landlord/landlady discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.? No

Is the landlord/landlady willing to make repairs? If yes, comment on how promptly (below): Yes

Have you had any disagreements with your landlord/landlady concerning who has the responsibility for making the repairs? No

Do you expect to have any problems getting your security deposit returned? If yes, why? (Explain below.): Yes

Have you had any major disagreements with your landlord/landlady? (Explain below.): No

If yes, have you taken any legal action concerning the disagreement? (Explain below.):

Explanations and comments:
She's very prompt, and comes either that day or the next. I burned the carpet, so I might not get my full deposit back, but I also lost my key and she's not taking anything off for that. She's very warm and flexible and lives around the corner, so she's always available and eager to help in any situation. She even gave us old wine glasses of hers and some lawn furniture.

Neighborhood & Location
Are your neighbors towns-people, students, or a mix? Mix
For whom is the noise level appropriate? Sleeping baby
Problems with location? None of the above

Comments on the neighborhood:
Families and quiet students, bikes in yard, far enough away that you feel like you're in a neighborhood but still within a 100 minute walk of anywhere.
