Comments on condition:
The house is really tiny- all of the ceilings and doors are pretty short. My housemate and I are both under 5'2 so it's not a problem but could be hard for some taller people. In general, stuff is in passable condition except for the oven which burns pretty much everything. Also- the yards in front and behind the house tend to have a LOT of dog poop around them. The woman who lives below us takes care of dogs and doesn't clean up the poop. The backyard is also incredibly muddy.

Temperature
Is the residence well insulated? Yes
Are there window screens? Yes
Are there storm windows? Yes
Is the residence warm enough? Yes
Is it hard to regulate the heat?
(For example, does the thermostat work? Do you have to open windows in the winter?): Yes

Comments on any of the above (temperature):
We have no control over the heat. The woman who lives downstairs controls it which is nice because it means we don't have to pay for it (which takes a HUGE chunk out of our utilities bill) and we've never had any real problems with it being too hot or too cold. Though we did have the windows open pretty late into the year because the heat tended to rise.

Relationship With Landlord

Does s/he enter the premises without your consent or without giving legal notice? No

Have you observed on the part of the landlord/landlady discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.? No

Is the landlord/landlady willing to make repairs? If yes, comment on how promptly (below): Yes

Have you had any disagreements with your landlord/landlady concerning who has the responsibility for making the repairs? No

Do you expect to have any problems getting your security deposit returned? If yes, why? (Explain below.): No

Have you had any major disagreements with your landlord/landlady? (Explain below.): No

If yes, have you taken any legal action concerning the disagreement? (Explain below.): No

Explanations and comments:
In general, Marti's really fast and responsive if you have any problems. Sometimes she'll expect you to do things (like clean a toilet that the previous tenant made dirty) that don't seem terribly reasonable but nothing too bad.

Neighborhood & Location
Are your neighbors towns-people, students, or a mix? Townspeople
For whom is the noise level appropriate? Sleeping baby
Problems with location? None of the above

Comments on the neighborhood:
It's mostly faculty who live in the neighborhood so it's really quiet. It can be very nice but also makes me feel a little bad if I have friends over late since you can hear pretty much everything through the floor. The woman who lives below us is very nice though and never complained and really, the house isn't terribly equipped for big parties anyway. It's a really pretty and safe part of Oberlin- for a couple of blocks you feel like you aren't even in college.
