Comments on condition:
There have been some squirrels in the walls, but no other real problems. Ants will come in the spring and summer if you don't keep the house clean.

Also, the basement has a working sub-pump, but there is still standing water down there, and as a result moquitos have been breeding.

Temperature
Is the residence well insulated? No
Are there window screens? No
Are there storm windows? No, so we put plastic on the windows
Is the residence warm enough? Yes, but it's very expensive to heat
Is it hard to regulate the heat?
(For example, does the thermostat work? Do you have to open windows in the winter?): No

Comments on any of the above (temperature):
The thermostat and heater are new this year, but the house has hardly any insolation, so a lot of heat escapes.

Explanations and comments:
Dr. Kharkar seems to be very disorganized about her rental properties, including ours. She never deals directly with us; rather, she works through a variety of go-to people. She seems to want to make the cheapest repairs possible as well. Admittedly, most things we have asked her to remedy have been done in a timely manner, but some have not. For example, our roof was being repaired from the last week in October through the middle of April. We were losing heat through the unfinished roof all winter.
We had a disagreement about our security deposit in the lease, because we did not receive a copy of the lease, though we signed in February, until September 1. When we did get it, many things had been crossed out and changed and all of us residents felt like what was on the lease in terms of the agreement about the security deposit, had been changed. But, we had no way to prove it, as we did not receive a copy of the lease until September.

Neighborhood & Location
Are your neighbors towns-people, students, or a mix? Mix
For whom is the noise level appropriate? School children
Problems with location? None of the above

Comments on the neighborhood:
It's good; it's two blocks from King. I like it a lot.
