Oberlin Summer School. The Conservatory offers both a six- and an eight-week session of private applied study on a limited number of instruments. Credit for such work is granted only to students who have completed high school.


Six-week session -- May 26 to July 3, 2003

3 credits 2 hours of lessons per week

2 credits 1-1/2 hours of lessons per week

1 credit 45 minutes of lessons per week


Eight-week session -- May 26 to July 18, 2003

4 credits 2 hours of lessons per week

3 credits 1-1/2 hours of lessons per week

2 credits 1 hour of lessons per week


Tuition for the summer session is $525 per credit hour. Application and $25 registration deposit are due at the Office of the Registrar by May 17, 2003. Summer Programs. The Conservatory offers a series of workshops and institutes which provide high-school and college students, teachers, and accomplished amateurs with an exceptional opportunity to develop performance and teaching skills, expand repertoire, build technique and generally enjoy music-making and performances in a supportive and collegial atmosphere. Participants will study with members of the Conservatory's distinguished resident and guest faculty and will have full use of the Conservatory's exceptional facilities. In addition, participants may be eligible to receive college credit.
