Interviewing | Interviewing Exercise | Negotiation
The job search process does not end once you have submitted a complete application or participated in an interview. Your interactions with a potential employer after the application are still an important part of demonstrating why you will be an asset to the organization. In addition, how you handle receiving a job offer can have a lasting impact on your salary and lifetime earnings. Handling the incoming offer; coordinating the timing of offers; and negotiating for salary or other benefits are important components of a successful search process. The advisors in the Office of Career Services are available to answer questions and work with you during negotiations. Vault.com and many of the books on interviewing in the Career Services library also provide negotiation information.
Negotiation techniques certainly apply to other situations, including graduate school. Visit our Grad School pages and download the appropriate guides for more information regarding negotiating graduate & professional school offers.
