Be a Career Mentor

One of the most popular ways to assist students is to serve as a career mentor. Oberlin alumni career mentors are willing to talk to current students and other alumni about their career field, to share advice and information, and to help facilitate networking. While all alumni in the online directory are accessible to students, many students are hesitant to contact someone they don’t know for career advice without some indication that the person is open to being contacted. Consequently, students look for alumni career mentors first.

To indicate your willingness to be a career mentor, in OBIEweb click into the Online Directory and then view/update your online directory listing. Under the last section called Miscellaneous, select “yes” at the field “Willing to mentor?” and then complete the next field which asks for “Mentoring fields.”
