The PBA is heading into the homestretch of the season with
only three events remaining: the Pepsi Championship in Indianapolis; the
PBA World Championship in Wyoming, MI; and the Tournament of Champions
in Uncasville, CT. The Pepsi Championship will be bowled on the Viper pattern,
the same pattern he reached 2nd place in last year’s Ace Hardware
Championship. Chris is also familiar with success on the World Championship
pattern, reaching 2nd place two seasons ago. Should Chris win either event,
he will be invited to participate in the Tournament of Champions.
In terms of next season, Chris is in pretty good shape. As of this writing,
Chris is in 22nd place in points and is about 23,000 points ahead of the
exemption cut, so he is safe for next year. Chris has earned $44,040 on
the Tour so far. Although that is much less than he made last year, the
payouts have been reduced (he would be at $56,840 if the old payout system
was used).
In total, Chris has made 5 TV appearances, each on a different pattern
(World Championship, Dick Weber Retro, Viper, Shark and Cheetah). It is
only a matter of time before one of the PBA’s most versatile bowlers
wins his first title. Tune in Sundays on ESPN to see when he does it.
