Oberlin College Lanes

Along with Birthdays, Leagues, and Open Bowling,
Oberlin College Lanes offers coaching for all skill levels.

Bumper Bowling

Bowlers age 4-9 can learn the basic aspects of the game of Bowling without the distraction of gutterballs. Lessons are coordinated based on each child's skill level ranging from two-handed delivery to establishing a four-step approach.

Fundamentals

If you are brand new to bowling or have played without any formal instruction, our Coaching Assistants will be able to provide you with the basic techniques to help you bowl better scores or show off to your friends. If you prefer to bowl casually but would like better scores, this level of instruction is for you!

Oberlin College students can also learn the fundamentals and earn college credit by taking Bowling I.

Developing Skills

Our USBC Bronze Certified Coach James Riggs and Silver Certified Coach Mike McComb are available to assist bowlers who have experience but need some fine tuning. This can include spare shooting strategies and keeping an eye out for bad habits that need breaking. Along with USBC certification, our coaches are trained in BowlersMAP, a video analysis program designed to pick what aspects a bowler can work on for improvement.

Oberlin College students can also develop their skills while earning college credit by taking Bowling II.

Advanced Bowling

Even top-notch bowlers can benefit from coaching and
College Lanes is here to help. Our coaching staff includes two USBC Silver Certified Coaches (Tom Reid and Mike McComb) who have had experience with touring professionals as well as top ranked amateur bowlers.
