The Community Service Resource Center

The CSRC is a volunteer clearinghouse that matches students seeking community service opportunities with local organizations in need of student volunteers. An idea conceived in the spring of 2004, the CSRC has launched full speed. In addition to coordinating and advertising community service opportunities, the CSRC is home to many print resources about local, national, and even abroad community service opportunities. The CSRC sends out a weekly e-mail to advertise volunteer opportunities in the community. If you would like to receive these e-mails, e-mail: Community.Services@oberlin.edu. The CSRC occasionally manages the Intramural Community Service Competition and the Community Service ExCo.
Currently the CSRC is run by four student staff and an AmeriCorps*VISTA. We hope that the CSRC will one day be entirely student run with support by the Bonner Center for Service and Learning staff. The vision is for the CSRC to be a sustainable student organization that empowers students to facilitate their own community service efforts and encourage each other to be civically engaged. If you have any interest in working in the CSRC, contact the Coordinator.
