Lorain County Cities and Towns

Lorain County is bordered by Erie, Huron, Ashland, Medina, and Cuyahoga counties.

It contains nine cities:

Lorain, Elyria, Amherst, Oberlin, Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake, North Ridgeville, and Vermilion

And seven villages:

Wellington, LaGrange, Sheffield, Grafton, Kipton, Rochester, South Amherst

The rest of the county is divided into 18 townships, which include:

Brownhelm, Amherst, Sheffield, Elyria, Henrietta, New Russia, Carlisle, Eaton, Columbia, Camden, Pittsfield, LaGrange

Grafton, Brighton, Wellington, Penfield, Rochester, Huntington

The city of Elyria is the county seat.

The largest city in Lorain county is Lorain (pop. 68,652), followed by Elyria (55,953). Other large cities are North Ridgeville (22,338), Avon Lake (18,145), Amherst (11,797), and Avon (11,446).
