Constantine Ananiadis was hired as Oberlin's head women's tennis coach in the summer of 2007. He comes to Oberlin after serving as the head women's and men's tennis coach at Washington College (Chestertown, Md.) since the fall of 2003. In four seasons at the helm for the Washington women's squad, he compiled 43 victories, including two straight Centennial Conference tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007. Ananiadis's men's team racked up 49 wins in four seasons and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in each of his first three years. Additionally, his men's squad won Centennial Conference Championships in 2004 and 2006.
Prior to arriving in Washington, Ananiadis works as an assistant coach at the University of Virginia for two years, where he led the recruiting efforts in bringing in arguably the top 2001-2002 incoming class in the nation. From the fall of 1999 until the fall of 2001, Ananiadis served as the head tennis and cross country coach at Agnes Scott College, an all women's institution in Decatur, Ga. At Agnes Scott, he turned the tennis program around from 4-10 to 17-4 in one season and compiled a 24-16 mark in a two-year span. He also coached his number one singles player to the NCAA Finals and a number-two national ranking.
Before he jumped onto the intercollegiate coaching scene, Ananiadis worked as an assistant tennis professional at the Anniston Country Club in Anniston, Ala., from 1998 to 1999. He earned a bachelor's degree in sports and exercise science from Stetson University (Fla.) in 1996 and a master's (ABD) in exercise physiology from Auburn University (Ala.). He also worked as a tennis camp director at Stetson, Auburn, the University of Notre Dame (Ind.), and Virginia from 1994 to 2002. |

John Erikson began his tenure as an assistant coach wtih the Oberlin College men's and women's tennis programs in 2004. A 1961 Oberlin graduate and member of the John W. Heisman Club Hall of Fame, Erikson starred in tennis, basketball, and football for the Yeomen.
Both of his sons, Carl and Erik, played tennis for Oberlin. Erikson served as the Heisman Club's President in 2004-2006 and is still very actively involved in the organization's development and success. He and his wife, Margaret, reside in Oberlin.
