Oberlin Rolls Past Wooster, 9-0

The Oberlin College women’s team improved to 3-0 in conference play as they defeated Wooster 9-0 on Wednesday evening at the John W. Heisman Field House.

Marta Robertson and Kimiko Glynn started things off by defeating Elissa Lauber and Brenna Hart 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles meeting.

After winning easily at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, Oberlin took control on the singles court as Glynn and fellow senior Jackie Golden defeated their respective opponents of Lauber and Hart without dropping a set.

Jane Hayden picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win the No. 3 slot against Erin Bauer, while Kelly Sipp bested Suzanne Hamby 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 position.

Sarah Teitelbaum and Robertson also followed suite in convincing fashion in the fifth and sixth slots.

Oberlin will now have a quick turnaround as it hosts the GLCA Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Yeowomen will get things started against Albion at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
